about

The cd is the follow up to Dave Ballou's 2015 Clean Feed release "Solo Trumpet." These four tracks demonstrate longer improvisations that highlight extended trumpet techniques, use of mutes and the performer's ability to sustain a musical improvisation.

The idea of Quadrants came from the division of the hour into four, fifteen minutes segments. With this, other fours came into play- the four directions and the use of four pitches (Bb, B, E and F).
